3 out of 7 students of Daboase SHS who break school rules to swim in river Pra drown

Information reaching on our portal indicates that three students from the Daboase Senior High Technical School in the Western Region’s Wassa East District have drowned.

This comes after 7 male students defied school regulations to swim in River Pra near the old site of the school. Three boys got drowned.

The 3 Boys are reported to be from Aboeai Aboadze Communities who believed in their swimming skills so took the high risk of swimming in the river overflowing its banks following days of torrential rains.

A lot of Wassa East communities have been severely hit by the heavy rains and flooding but this is a terrible calamity to have befallen Daboase Community. Two of the bodies have been recovered after some rituals were performed.

The third body is, however, yet to be found. The two bodies have been deposited at the Effia Nkwanta Mortuary according to the District Chief Executive (DCE), Mr Emmanuel Boakye.

The incident occurred on Saturday, June 24, 2023.
