A crush outside a stadium holding an Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) event in Cameroon is said to have killed six people and injured scores more.
Football fans struggled to get admission to the Paul Biya stadium in Yaounde’s capital neighborhood, according to video footage.
According to AP News, Naseri Paul Biya, governor of Cameroon’s central region, indicated there might be more casualties.
According to another account, a number of children had passed out.
The stadium has a capacity of 60,000 people, however it was never intended to be more than 80% full due to Covid regulations.
Approximately 50,000 people attempted to attend the match, according to authorities.
