Akufo-Addo Boldly Declares The Person He Will Support For NPP Flagbearership Race
President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has stated that he would not vote in the New Patriotic Party (NPP) delegates’ convention to select a new presidential candidate for the 2024 elections.
The president stated that he will do all in his power to achieve success for the NPP and the flagbearer who will be chosen to head the party.
Several NPP leaders, including Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and Trades Minister Alan Kyerematen, are preparing to run for the party’s flagbearership.
In an interview with NANDOM FM in the Upper West Region as part of his visit to the region, Nana Akufo-Addo stated that he will remain impartial during the process.
He also stated that the party now requires someone to unify the party in order to battle and defeat the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the 2024 elections.
“That choice will only be displayed after I vote, but I have no preference before then.” “My stance is clear; simply establish the conditions for a fair process, one that will allow us to unite the party after the completion [of the internal elections],” stated President Akufo-Addo.
“Someone who will come and have the ability to unify our party and put it in a position to battle and beat our traditional opponent, the National Democratic Congress,” he continued.
