Asante Kotoko Premier League winner coach Prosper Ogum resigns; Shocking reasons drop

Asante Kotoko head coach Prosper Narteh has resigned, according to reports.

Ogum, who won the Ghana Premier League with Kotoko last season, resigned on Wednesday afternoon following a meeting with the Board’s technical committee and management.

In an unexpected change of events, Ogum has resigned from his position just three weeks before the start of the club’s pre-season activities.

According to Oyerepa FM’s Eugene Adu Poku, the Ghana Premier League champion has departed the club following a meeting with the club’s senior brass.

Sources suggest the manager is dissatisfied with the club’s transfer activities ahead of next season, particularly their participation in the CAF Champions League.

Three major players have departed the record Ghanaian champions: Mudasiru Salifu, Fabio Gama, and Kwame Baah.

The conflict between the coach and the management team appears to have reached a boiling point, prompting the University professor to decide to leave the African superpower.

The team is slated to begin season preparations by competing in the Ghalca off-season competition- the G6 in Kumasi next month.
