Auditor General Drops List of “Fake” Programmes Offered by University of Ghana Legon – Check

Thirteen (13) Doctor of Philosophy degrees out of 67 given by the University of Ghana are not authorized, including PhDs in African Studies, Accounting, Food Science, and Development Studies, among others.

According to the Auditor-2021 General’s report, three hundred and seventy-four (374) programs at the University of Ghana are unaccredited, with fourteen of the 374 unaccredited courses being diploma programs.

There are 80 undergraduate programs, 213 postgraduate programs, and 67 PhD programs.

According to the study, the “University promoted 374 academic programs on the various online portals that had expired or required re-accreditation throughout the time under examination.” “hasten action for the accreditation and re-accreditation of all new and expired academic programs.”

It also suggested that the university’s administration “liaise with the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC) to pursue retrospective accreditation to cover all non-accredited diplomas given to students.”
