BREAKING NEWS: No One Should Pay GH¢30 During Enrollment Of Students – GES Cautions

The management of the Ghana Education Service (GES) has observed with concern, a disturbing and worrying trend which is developing with regards to enrolment of students placed in second cycle for the 2022 Academic Year.

The trend is that in various schools, when students present themselves to be enrolled, instead of the IT
Personnel in the schools using the Head of school’s portal ( to do the enrolment, the
students, parents/guardians are asked to log on to the students’ portal ( to print Out their prospectus and also enroll themselves at a fee of Thirty Ghana Cedis (GH¢30.00) per student.

In addition to the unauthorized fee charged, this platform only provides information on only students with automatic-placement and thus only allows automatic-placed students to enrol.

The platform ( does not recognise any other form of placement, (i.e. Special Placement, Protocol Placement nor Self-Placement).

As a result, Heads and school authorities send students who are placed through the other placement platforms other than the automatic-placement away with the reason that their information cannot be found on the portal. Hence the creation of unnecessary tension and problems with regards to the placement enrolment exercise.

Regional Directors of Education are to caution all Heads within their jurisdictions to desist from such
practices and revert to the use of authorized and approved enrolment procedures.

Moreover, the Free SHS Policy is to be implemented to the letter. Hence, collection of any monies from students, parents/guardians will attract sanctions.

Please treat this directive with all the seriousness it deserves.

Thank you.
