Prosper Narteh Ogum, the head coach of Asante Kotoko, has confirmed the death of his father, Sampson Akrono Ogum.
The manager announced his father’s death on Twitter, but he did not explain why Akrono was fired.
“You instilled in us the importance of being disciplined, respectful, humble, hardworking, and truthful at all times.” These core values have remained with us and will continue to do so in the future. You will live on in our memories and hearts forever.
“REST WELL, MY BELOVED DAD,” he tweeted.
Kotoko fans and local football fans flocked to his comment section to commiserate with him and express their condolences.
A few minutes after the announcement, the club expressed their condolences to Ogum via Twitter.
“Our Condolence to the family of our Head Coach, @ProsNartehOgum whose father, Sampson Akrono Ogum passed away yesterday. We at Asante Kotoko are with you, Mister.”
Prospr Narteh Ogum is currently training with the Black Galaxies in preparation for their 2023 African Nations Championship match against Benin.
The Black Galaxies will face Benin in the first leg of the Preliminary Round on Sunday, July 24, 2022, at the Cape Coast stadium.
