Diploma To Replace WASSCE- GES, Ministry of Education, and NaCCA New Curriculum Is Out

On social media, the Ministry of Education, Ghana Education Service, and the National Council for Curriculum Assessment have released a new education reform framework.

According to the document, all students in JHS 1 – SHS 1 must complete a Common Core Programme (CCP) that includes 9 subjects: Math, Languages, Science, RME (standalone subject), Physical and Health Education (not examinable), Career Technology, Social Studies, Computing, and Creative Arts and Design.

Furthermore, at SHS 3, WASSCE will be replaced with a university admission test, and students who successfully complete SHS 3 will be awarded a Diploma Certificate rather than a WASSCE certificate.

Meanwhile, the Education Ministry has yet to issue a formal comment on the subject.
