Do not repeat JHS students…GES sends strong warnings to Heads

Headteachers have been warned by the management of the Ghana Education Service (GES) not to repeat Junior High School pupils (potential JHS 3 students) for the 2023 academic year.

It has come to the knowledge of the Management of the Ghana Education Service that certain Heads of Public Basic Schools are repeating JHS 2 pupils who are going to JHS 3 this academic year, according to a statement issued by Dr. Kwabena Bempah Tandoh, Deputy Director-General in charge of Q&A.

The GES management strongly objects to this behavior. This is because the current JHS 3 class is the final group to complete the Objective-Based Curriculum and take the BECE this year.
