Ex Blackstar Keeper drops details of Rev. Isaac Owusu-Bempah Being Once A Skillful Footballer
Former Black Stars goalkeeper Mohammed Odoom has said that Rev. Isaac Owusu-Bempah of the Glorious Word Power Ministry International was once a great and skilled footballer.
According to the Asante Kotoko legend, who hailed the famous priest as a wonderful player, Rev. Isaac Owusu-Bempah was a major possibility at the colt football level, but he chose not to pursue a professional career.
Mohammed Odoom said this in an interview with Dan Kweku Yeboah TV when recalling his colleagues from his junior team, Akotex FC.
“I played for Akotex at the colt level, and among my teammates included John Benson, a certain Aidan, who subsequently went on to play for the Nigerian national team, and Rev Owusu-Bempah.”
“Owusu-Bempah played football.” We all played at the colt level, although he was a year older than me and a fantastic right-winger at the time. “You can ask John Benson, and he’ll tell you the same thing about him when we were colts,” Mohammed Odoom remarked.
Before retiring in the late 1990s, Mohammed Odoom played for Sekondi Eleven Wise, Kumasi Cornerstone, Asante Kotoko, and the Black Stars.
