Fierce fight breaks out at KNUST Campus as Conti, Katanga students clash (video)
Clashes between students at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) Unity and University Halls, also known as Katanga and Conti, resulted in the damage of property on Thursday night.
The fighting students smashed several automobiles parked in front of Conti.
The incident is thought to have occurred as a result of Unity Hall students attempting to stop colleagues from University Hall from utilizing their façade in a parade.
Minutes after stone pelting between the two Halls, police on the site were able to restore order.
News You’ll Like According to Nana Yaw Gyimah, the University Hall (Katanga) embarked on a zulu parade within the campus as part of a Hall week celebration.
They had walked through the University’s main streets.
An effort to use the Unity Hall’s facade (Conti) ended in the two sides pelting stones at each other.
For more than a decade, the two Halls agreed never to travel past the peace Junction in procession.
A police squad was sent in to prevent more property damage.
