Gov’t to evacuate 331 stranded Ghanaians in Dubai, UAE
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration said it is collaborating with UAE authorities to rescue 331 Ghanaians who have become stuck in Dubai and the UAE.
According to the Ministry’s news release, the stranded individuals were duped by brokers who promised them jobs in Dubai and the UAE.
However, the agents have abandoned these individuals, leaving them easy targets for capture and custody by UAE law enforcement forces.
As a result, the Ministry advises anyone who wants to travel to do so through the proper channels.
“Even though our stranded compatriots traveled to the UAE on their own, the government of Ghana is collaborating with UAE authorities to facilitate the evacuation of our stranded citizens.”
“The Ministry would want to take this occasion to warn potential prospective visitors to the Golf region about criminal actions by unscrupulous agents.”
