Headmistress closes down school over her missing GHC2k

Gifty Pomah, the headmistress of MalamKrom L/A Primary School in the Wenchi Municipality in the Bono Region, is said to have halted instruction over the disappearance of GHC 2,000.

According to information acquired by Adom News, her bungalow is where the money went missing.

After spending the weekend at her house in Techiman, she went back to her bungalow only to discover that her room had been broken into and her safe had been stolen.

When Madam Pomah couldn’t find the money, she shut down the school and threatened to stop all academic activity.

The pupils had been attending classes since Monday, March 13, 2023, but they only had time to play and left for home when school let out.

Ankomah Kennedy, the chairman of the school management council and parent of a student there, agreed there had been no instruction for almost two weeks.

Mr. Ankomah elucidated In addition, Madam Pomah ordered teachers to halt teaching till further notice and school meals caterers to stop preparing.

The students were required to beg their parents for money by the headmistress until she had her entire payment.

Madam Pomah was instructed to reopen the school after the District Education Director and other stakeholders intervened.
