Ghanaian soccer official, former EXCO member, and CAF Match Commissioner Albert Commey claims that many of the games played during the Ghana Premier League’s final weekend were manipulated.
The seasoned soccer official alleged in an interview with Space FM that both the Bibiani Gold Stars and Ashanti Gold SC game and the match between Hearts of Oak and RTU were manipulated. “The league season in 2021/22 was tight. Since there were so many manipulated games in the last round of games, I really didn’t like the approach and manner in which it was handled.
In addition to the matches involving Bibiani Gold Stars and Ashgold, Eleven Wonders vs. Aduana Stars, King Faisal vs. Legon Cities, and Hearts vs. RTU, there were also manipulated matches, according to Albert Commey.
“Let us no longer be hypocrites, else we would not advance in Ghana soccer,” the soccer administrator who has worked with some of the top clubs in the nation remarked. Since teams make every effort to stay in the league at some point in the latter half of the season, I might not hold the GFA responsible for this.
The league season in 2021/22 was fiercely contested. Since there were so many manipulated games in the last round of games, I really didn’t like the approach and manner in which it was handled.
Soccer supporters on the Ghana Premier League’s end had voiced these accusations. Sadly, there was no evidence to support the assertions.
