Kwadwo Nkansah, also known as LilWin, a new Edubiase United striker, has protested his exclusion from the Black Stars’ 27-man squad for their forthcoming match against Nigeria.
On Tuesday, March 22, 2022, Black Stars head coach Otto Addo named his 27-man roster for the FIFA World Cup playoff versus Nigeria’s Super Eagles.
According to the popular comedian, his absence from the team is unpleasant and may be due to the coach’s lack of knowledge of his abilities.
“I’m very angry, and this is the time in Ghana for those in charge of various sectors to do the right thing,” LilWin said in an interview on Accra’s Asempa FM. “I don’t understand why I wasn’t invited to be a part of the Ghana vs Nigeria game, especially when the game will be played in Kumasi, which is my city,” LilWin said.
“How come LilWin isn’t in this squad when Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko have both expressed interest in signing me since I joined New Edubiase?” Maybe the coach despises me or simply dislikes me. It’s also possible that the coach was not briefed on Ghana’s greatest players.”
Despite his withdrawal from the Black Stars team, the New Edubiase United striker stated that he will continue to gather for support for the Black Stars in Kumasi.
“I can’t say I won’t support the Black Stars as a result of this since the squad represents all of us as Ghanaians.” I have nothing to gain from the team’s failure, therefore I will back them up. If I had been on the lineup, we could have beaten Nigeria 5-0, but we will still win.”
The Black Stars are attempting to qualify for their fourth FIFA World Cup after missing out on the 2018 edition in Russia, but they will have to do it at the expense of Nigeria, who are attempting to qualify for their seventh consecutive World Cup.
