The head of football operations and financial backer for King Faisal, Alhaji Grusah, has firmly said that Kumasi Asante Kotoko lacks the resources to acquire new players.
Alhaji Grunsah feels it would be “foolish” to permit the move when he might earn more money by selling the player to Europe than than letting him join another Ghanaian side like Kotoko.
In an interview with Abusua FM, he was asked about selling his players to Kotoko in order to compete in the CAF Champions League.
“It seems ridiculous to buy players from Kotoko. While I can resale them profitably in other nations. A person who would make such a decision is either insane or heartless.
“I sold Opoku Afriyie to Kotoko a few years ago for GHC5, but Kotoko hasn’t paid me yet. I cannot be categorized as a peasant because I was born in Kumasi, Ghana, he remarked.
Kotoko was allegedly working against his squad in the relegation fight, according to the club’s owner and banker.
