JUST IN: Controller And Accountant General Get Set To Eliminate ‘Ghost Names’ From Payroll- 2022

The Controller and Accountant General’s Department (CAGD) has asked all Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies, MMDAs, and Decentralized Heads to undertake a headcount of personnel in all institutions under their jurisdiction in order to confirm their true staff on the payroll.

The instruction is part of the government’s Expenditure Rationalization initiative, which aims to remove inactive employees from the payroll and clean up the payroll.

The instruction also encouraged MMDA heads of institutions to adopt the Electronic Salary Payment Voucher (ESPV) system to authenticate people on the payroll.
