Fatau Dauda, a former goalkeeper for the Black Stars, is said to have joined Ghana Premier League champions Asante Kotoko on a free transfer.
Following the departure of Razak Abalora and the critical injury to young goalkeeper Abdul Rafiu Yakubu, the club announced their desire to hire a new goalkeeper.
Dauda is thought to have reached an agreement with Kotoko, with the club set to make an announcement soon.
The goalkeeper has been without a club since parting company with Legon Cities in October 2021, and has been a frequent pundit on GTV during the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations.
For the time being, Dauda has been brought in to help first-choice goalkeeper Ibrahim Danland and second-choice goalkeeper Kwame Baah. Expect the seasoned shot-stopper to make a bid for the top spot.
After an outstanding showing at the 2013 Afcon, when the Black Stars reached the semi-finals, he was at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil, playing two games.
