JUST IN: Ghana qualify for 2022 World Cup in Qatar; FULL DETAILS

After a valiant showing against Nigeria on Tuesday that ended in a 1-1 draw in Abuja, Ghana has qualified for the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

Ghana understood that a score draw would be enough to earn their berth in Qatar after the first leg ended 0-0 in Kumasi.

Thomas Partey scored the game-winning away goal in the 10th minute in front of a large crowd at Moshood Abiola Stadium to stun the Super Eagles.

The advantage, however, only lasted 12 minutes when Nigeria equalized via to a controversial penalty kick by William Troost-Ekong.

After that, Ghana held on to qualify for a fourth World Cup finals.
