Just In: Ghanaian actor, Waakye Dies At Age 52; Confirmed Details Drop
Prince Yawson, better known as Waakye, a veteran Kumawood actor, has allegedly died.
After suffering a disease for years, the 52-year-old actor died in the early hours of August 2, 2022, at the 37 Military Hospital.
Inconsolable colleague legendary actor Bob Smith Jnr (Diaboloman) revealed his demise.
A photo of Waakye in a hospital bed went viral in 2013, confirming that he was suffering from a stroke.
In April 2021, he appeared to have rehabilitated and found his destiny as an ordained Reverend priest.
After leaving the film business, he enrolled at a Bible school in Accra to prepare for his new religious job.
Waakye rose to prominence in the early 2000s after appearing in humorous films like as Diabolo, Babina, and the famous sitcom Chorkor Trotro.
He is the third Kumawood celebrity to die in less than a month. His death follows those of actors Ice Kenkey, Patrick Safo, and Nana Osei Tutu.
