Mahama and Lordina donate 45-bed maternity ward to mark 30th wedding anniversary

Former President John Dramani Mahama is celebrating his 30th wedding anniversary with his wife, former First Lady Lordina Mahama.

As part of the celebrations, the two have given the Bole District Hospital a 45-bed maternity and children’s wing.

Meanwhile, Mahama has praised Lordina for being a wonderful spouse who has brought out the best in him. He has lauded her efforts and applauded her dedication.

Marriage is a blessing when it is with the right person. In my wife, Lordina, I have found a life partner with whom I have shared every step of life’s journey this past 30 years and more,” Mr Mahama wrote on Facebook.

45-Bed Maternity And Children’s Ward Donated By Mr and Mrs Mahama

The 865sqm Lordina Foundation Maternity and Children’s Ward has a total of 45 beds, 10 baby cots, 5 weighing scales with height measurements, a Kangaroo Mother and Child Care Centre, and a Delivery Room with two delivery beds, and a Recovery Ward.

According to President Mahama, the newly inaugurated wards also contain “a Neo-natal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) with three incubators, five phototherapy units, and a newborn weighing scale.”

“We also offer a theatre room with two theater beds, a theater light, and a stool.” We also supplied sterilization, examination, doctor’s consulting room, nurse workstations, and a linen room.”

Mrs. Mahama is certain that the new maternity and children’s wards will assist deliver optimal health care to the excellent people of Bole and its surroundings, saying that “this is our genuine tribute to the wonderful people of this village.”

She was very effusive in her admiration for her spouse. “I’d want to thank my loving husband, President John Dramani Mahama, for his assistance in the development of this institution.”
