NABCO trainees give gov’t one-week ultimatum to address their concerns

Nation Builders Corp (NABCO) trainees have set the government a one-week deadline to resolve their complaints.

Last week, trainees protested over unpaid salary arrears.

Following the protest, the Vice President’s Deputy Chief of Staff, Emmanuel Adumua-Bossman, accepted their petition on behalf of the Vice President and told them that the government will address their issues.

“This administration is a listening government, so these things that you have scripted will be carefully reviewed at the highest levels, and you will hear something tangible on the concerns you have highlighted as soon as it is practical,” Mr Adumua-Bossman assured them.

“We thus bring to the notice of the government that following the picketing staged on the 18th of August 2022, we are providing stakeholders a one week window to reply relievedly to our plea,” stated National President of the NABCO Trainees Dennis Opoku Asiedu in a statement dated August 22.

“In fact, if we have not received a response by the end of this week, August 26th, there will be Phase II of the picketing, with the destination point being the Jubilee House, which was our intended target site for Phase I but had to be altered owing to security concerns expressed by the Police.”

“We are hoping that the reassuring remarks of the Deputy Chief of Staff, Mr Emmanuel Adumua-Bossman, delivered on behalf of the Vice President of the Republic of Ghana, H.E Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, would elicit a favorable response by the end of this week.”
