OFFICIAL: Danlad Ibrahim extends Asante Kotoko stay

Danlad Ibrahim, goalkeeper for Asante Kotoko, has signed a two-year contract extension that would keep him at the club until the conclusion of the 2023/24 season.

Danlad’s previous deal with the Porcupines was set to expire in December of this year, but he has extended it until 2024.

Danlad joined the Porcupines as a teenager and has progressed to become one of Ghana’s greatest goalkeepers.

The 19-year-old took over as the team’s number one when Razak Abalora left for Moldovan club Sheriff Tiraspol in January 2022, and he helped the club win the 2021/22 Premier League title.

Danlad has signed a two-year contract with the club after failing to secure a move to Al Hilal. He will be an important player of the team as the new season begins next month.

He preserved 12 clean sheets while conceding only 12 goals, making the Ghanaian giants the top defensive team at the end of the season.

Danlad is the first-choice goalkeeper for the Black Galaxies, who have qualified for the CHAN 2022 final round.

When Ghana won the Africa U20 Championship in Mauritania last year, the youngster was awarded the best goalie.

He has represented Ghana at the 2019 U23 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt, as well as the Ghana U17 squad at the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations and World Cup.
