‘One Student 2 Bread’… Shocking as SHS Prefect Aspirant copies Nana Addo’s Campaign Promises
A Dinning Hall prefect wannabe at a Ghanaian high school has gone popular on social media after promising “1 pupil, 2 loaves of bread” as part of his campaign speech.
The video, which appeared to have been shot during a manifesto reading at the Ahmadiyya Secondary School, showed the aspirant making the vow to their enthusiastic classmates.
Many individuals on social media have drawn comparisons between the Akufo-Addo government’s pledges and the young student politician.
The student’s vow to his classmates comes at an inopportune moment. Food shortages at Ghanaian secondary schools have forced pupils to bring their own sugar and bread to the dining hall for breakfast.
The promise of “1 student, 2 bread” has been contrasted to Akufo-One Addo’s District, One Hospital and a pledge of 1 District, 1 Modernized Hospital.
Other pledges include: One village, one dam; one million dollars per constituency every year; and One region, one theatre, in which Akufo-Addo committed to undertake the development of contemporary big seating theatres in every regional capital, excluding Accra, commencing with Takoradi, Tamale, and Kumasi.
More assurances are included. Akufo-Addo pledged new marketplaces and retail facilities in every area to boost domestic trade in one district, one market.”
