Shells of live ammunition retrieved at Islamic SHS Campus after police raid

After an armed police search on Tuesday, spent rounds of live ammunition were discovered on the campus of Islamic Senior High School (SHS).
Rubber bullets and water cannons were used to disperse enraged kids who were protesting the frequent knockdowns of their classmates by fast cars on that stretch of road, according to police in the region.
However, journalists who went to the institution to check things out discovered shells of live bullets that had been fired intermittently at the students, proving that the cops had lied in their defense.
It will be noted that on Monday, June 13, 2022, MyNewsGh.com reported that a demonstration by students of the Islamic Senior High School in Bantama in the Kumasi Metropolis turned bloody after law enforcement clashed with the marauding teenagers.
More than 30 students were brought to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital and the Suntreso Government Hospital after being abused by police re-enforcement from the Formed Police Unit (FPU).
The National Ambulance Service dispatched about fifteen ambulances to rescue the youngsters who had been suffocated in the stampede.
The kids stopped the major road in front of the school on Monday morning to raise attention to the need for road markings and speed rumps to reduce the pace at which fast vehicles hit unsuspecting pupils and staff on a daily basis.
The demonstration on Monday was in response to an event last Friday in which one of the school’s teachers was killed by a speeding car.
To disperse the furious students who threw stones at the police in reaction, riot police used pepper spray, tear gas, and what some spectators believe were live bullets.
Police arrested and detained some journalists from Kumasi-based Angel FM who rushed to the area to report the incident for taping it.
