According to accounts, a family excursion turned tragic when six members drowned at a beautiful site on Sunday.

In India, two sisters from a group of 15 entered the water at Ramdaha Falls in Chhattisgarh.

Shraddha and Shweta Singh, 14 and 22 years old, were attempting to take a photo when the younger sister lost her balance and became disoriented.

Shraddaha’s family came to her help, with brother Himanshu Singh, 18, cousin Rishabh Singh, 24, and his wife Sulekha Singh, 22, plunging into the plunge pool holding hands to try to save the sisters.

Abhay Singh (22) and Ratnesh Singh (26) also pitched in to aid.

Witnesses said that all of the relatives began to struggle in deep water within seconds.

Despite the fact that startled bystanders alerted authorities, only Sulekha was rescued alive.

Officers recruited the help of divers from the State Disaster Emergency Relief Force to look for people who had gone missing. Three bodies were rescued from the sea on Sunday evening, and three more were discovered on Monday morning.

According to Korea District Magistrate Kuldeep Sharma, the remains were transferred for autopsy before being returned to the family’s remaining members.
