Teacher Unions Sends Strong Warning To GES Over Lower Ranks Promotion Challenges

Teacher Unions have issued a cautionary letter to the Ghana Education Service (GES) requesting that Lower Ranks Promotion and Related Matters be handled before December 31, 2022.

According to the unions, it is concerning, undesirable, and should not be accepted that a teacher who successfully completed his promotion in 2015 has not been placed on scale or effects to date (2022).

According to GNAT, NAGRAT, and CCT-GH, it is infuriating and provocative, with the potential to disrupt industrial harmony given the length of time teachers have had to wait for genuine advancement.

The Teacher Unions in Education said that, while they recognize and appreciate the efforts being made to guarantee that all impacted teachers are promoted, it will never be enough to compensate for the irreparable harm done to the affected teachers’ career advancement.
