The “One Teacher, One Laptop” project will employ a shortcode that has been formally released by the Ghana Education Service (GES) in partnership with KA Technologies Ghana Limited, the company that makes the TM 1 computers.

HOW WILL TEACHERS BE ABLE TO REGISTER FOR THE COLLECTION OF THE LAPTOPS USING THE SHORTCODE:

As earlier indicated, teachers will receive their laptops by dialing a shortcode to register for the initiative. As a teacher or GES staff, you will use the phone to register and get your collection code for the collection of your laptop under “One Teacher, One Laptop” by simply dialing *790*555#

WHEN SHOULD A TEACHER DIAL THIS SHORTCODE UNDER THE “ONE TEACHER, ONE LAPTOP” FOR COLLECTION?:

All teachers or GES employees are to note that you are ONLY required to dial the short code when you have been scheduled for collection and informed to do so by your school Head or GES District coordinator.

PROCEDURES FOR REGISTRATION FOR THE “ONE TEACHER, ONE LAPTOP INITIATIVE”:

Steps:

1. Dial *790*555#

2. Enter first name

3. Enter Last name

4. Enter staff ID

5. Enter your active email address

6. Select choice of training

An SMS with your collection code will be sent to your phone and that is the code you will use for the collection of your laptop.

Using a phone with your registered mobile number, call 790555# to get your Collection Code back if you misplace it.
