TEACHERS LAPTOP: Teachers call for a refund over the failure of GES to distribute TM1 Laptops

Some teachers in the country’s northern part have urged the Ghana Education Service (GES), the Ministry of Education (MoE), and the different teacher unions to immediately repay the money withheld in exchange for the promise to provide the laptops.
Over 80% of Tamale Metropolis teachers have received TM1 computers since the distribution began, according to statistics acquired by our portal.
Only 22 of the roughly 90 public junior high schools in the Tamale Metropolis received laptops, according to further study. There are almost 1,200 teachers spread across the more than 90 public schools in the metropolitan assembly.
The administration of the Tamale Regional Education Directorate assured the worried instructors that each teacher will receive the laptop during a meeting with them on June 22, 2022.
According to the Northern Regional ICT Coordinator, distributions are still taking place in the North East Region but have ceased in the Savannah Region. The organizer also said that the Northern Region will follow, but she was unable to specify when the equipment would be delivered.
