Sulley Muntari, a Ghana legend, has stated that he is willing to accept the bare minimum to stay at Hearts of Oak when his current contract expires. In the second transfer window, the 37-year-old signed a short-term contract with The Phobians.
Muntari has been a lynchpin for the squad this season, making five appearances and scoring once and assisting twice.
Following their success against Asante Kotoko in the 2022 President’s Cup at the Accra Sports Stadium over the weekend, the club’s Board Chairman and principal stakeholder, Tobeg Afede XIV, paid a surprise visit to the training fields on Monday.
Muntari was questioned how much he will charge the squad and what should be done to keep him at the club during an engagement with the players. “I will only charge the club GHc1,” the champion of the Champions League and the English FA Cup said.
Muntari scored his first goal for the club against WAFA in a 2-1 triumph over the Academy Boys at the Accra Sports Stadium on Wednesday.
Muntari will be trying to maintain his excellent form as they go to Aduana Stars on Sunday for the matchday 20 games.
