WATCH: Caught! Alleged kidnapper dressed like a woman
Residents overcame one of the shooters who attacked ladies in Mempeasem, West Gonja Municipality, Savannah Region.
According to 3news.com’s Christopher Amoako, he was overpowered since he was dressed as a lady among the other accused kidnappers.
He was summoned to the chief’s palace right away.
The women’s shouts were heard by some male farmers, who swiftly organized to rescue the victims.
He was afterwards turned up to Damongo police.
A highly armed combined police-military squad has also been dispatched to the region by the Savannah Regional Security Council (REGSEC).
Regional minister and REGSEC Chairman Saeed Muhazu Jibril has informed people that security is under control of the situation.
He urged locals to be watchful and to report any suspicious individuals to security for prompt action.
A helicopter from the Tamale military post has been sighted circling in the area.
