Western Region: Seven suspected robbers arrested

In two separate anti-robbery operations in the Western Region, seven alleged robbers were apprehended.

Shadrack Nyame, Wofa Yaw Boadi, Sampson Attobra, and Kweku Koduah were apprehended at their hideaway in Wassa Powuako after robbing their victims of GHc 42,360.00 and various mobile phones on a stretch of road between Wassa Powuako and Wassa Abenabena.

At Yayaso village near Samreboi, three others, Samuel Amuzu, Francis Acheampong, and William Kwifie, were arrested for attacking and robbing their victims of various quantities of money and gold ore.

The suspects have so far been found with GH 1,480 in cash, a quantity of gold ore, one pump action pistol, seven AAA live ammo, and one used cartridge.

The arrest was reported in a statement by the police, who stated that the suspects are in custody and will be prosecuted according to the law.

“We congratulate the Western Regional Police Command for a successful operation.” We’re also grateful to the victims and members of the community who helped with the operation.

The statement said, “We continue to ask the people to help the police in maintaining a safe and secure environment for everybody.”
