Young Man who Got F9 in Exams Celebrates as He Bags First-Class from University; Results go viral online

Mayowa Joshua Amusan, a Nigerian, has revealed his remarkable experience of going from F9 parallel in NECO to finishing with a first-class degree.

While celebrating his graduation from the University of Ibadan, the young guy posted this on LinkedIn.

He not only received a first-class degree but he was also named the finest graduating student in the department of agricultural economics, according to him.

Mayowa Joshua Amusan, a recent graduate of the University of Ibadan, has shared his story of how he went from an F9 parallel NECO score ten years ago to a First Class degree from Nigeria’s best university, the University of Ibadan.

In an external test in 2011, Mr Mayowa Joshua Amusan received an F9 in all nine subjects he took.

But it appears that this did not stop him, as he passed his WAEC in three sittings and was accepted into The Polytechnic Ibadan and then the University of Ibadan, where he studied Agricultural Economics.

At the University of Ibadan’s recent convocation, Amusan was one of the First Class students honored by the nation’s top university.

On his Linkedin page, he posted a copy of his F9 Parallel result as well as his recent accomplishment. Amusan appreciated his family and support system for helping him transform from failure to achiever.

The first image in this piece is a photograph of my very first written external examination. With an F9 Parallel, I had failed all of the subjects I sat for that year. After that result, I had to retake WAEC three times before clearing all of my papers.

After that, I went to Ibadan Polytechnic. My CGPA was initially fairly low, but with hard effort, consistency, and the grace of God, I was able to earn a Distinction in Agricultural Technology.

Even though I received a Distinction, I was hesitant to purchase the University of Ibadan’s Post-UTME form because I was afraid I would fail the tests.

My parents and siblings trusted in me, and God willing, I was accepted to study Agricultural Economics at the 200 level through direct entry. I not only received a first-class grade, but I also graduated first in my department.

Everything is possible with God, hard effort, a loving family, and excellent friends, he concluded.
